Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words and pictures can hurt me on the internet. Kids are just as likely to be bullied on the internet as they are on the playground. Cyperbullies harass, humiliate, embarrass and threaten. It is important to talk openly with children about how to handle cyberbullying issues. If your child encounters a form of cyberbullying, remember that bullies thrive on the reactions of their targets. Here are a few tips to deal with cyberbullies:
STOP! Don't do anything. Take 5! to calm down.
Block! Block the cyberbully or limit all communications to those on your buddy list.
And Tell! Tell a trusted adult. You don't have to face this alone.Report cyberbullying to WiredSafety.org
